About Catherine Rollins

Well hello! I’m a Historic Interpreter at Old Salem Museums & Gardens, where I get to share the rich history of our community with visitors through engaging tours and programs. With a BA in History, a minor in Classical Studies, and an MAT in Teaching (Secondary Social Studies), I’ve always been passionate about bringing the past to life in meaningful ways. Before stepping into this role, I gained diverse experience in education, nonprofit work, and event planning. I spent several years as a high school history teacher, where I had the chance to help rewrite the virtual American History curriculum for Rowan County schools in 2019. I also worked in human resources for Food Lion, and in fundraising and event coordination at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where I helped organize events like the SummerLark Concert Series in Bailey Park. What drives me is building strong connections within my community, tackling creative challenges, and leading teams to bring new ideas to life. I’m a natural problem-solver and a firm believer in the power of collaboration. I’m currently exploring flexible part-time opportunities that would allow me to continue my work at Old Salem while expanding my professional experiences.
