About Catherine Shaw

I am both a business and creative professional with one ultimate goal in mind – helping others. By day, as the head paralegal of a Social Security Disability, Class Action, and Mass Tort Law Firm, I am a part of an organization that enacts real change every day. Whether it’s assisting someone with getting the disability benefits they so desperately need, or taking action against a company that has wronged tens of thousands of consumers, my research, project organization, and communication skills make a difference in peoples’ lives. By night and weekend, as a professional photographer, I get to capture the moments that will be shared by family and friends for decades to come. Whether it’s a fundraiser aimed at cancer awareness, a celebration of a milestone for an organization, or the joining of two families in a wedding, I aim to capture all of the moments and details of those important days. Think of all of the photos you have at home right now. I can bet that some of those are wedding photos of parents, grandparents, even great grandparents, passed down for generations. They are the memories of a joyous occasion captured in time forever. While these two worlds of being a paralegal and a photographer may seem different at first glance, these positions hold much in common for me. I am a part of helping people at the times they need it most, and on their happiest days. I believe that if we all do our best to help those around us, we can leave the world a little better than how we found it.
