About Catherine Shaw

After 20 years of construction business ownership while raising my family, my personal experience with mental health challenges and pursuit for practical mental wellness skills led me to study Life Coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and my search for practical preventative programs led me to the extensive work of international leading mental training expert, Dr. Terry Orlick. As Founder of PLS Learning Solutions Australasia and the Positive Living Skills Preventative Initiative in Australia, I am proud to be have worked directly with Dr. Orlick and my business partner Jo Devin, and to have led a team of dedicated and determined professionals to create and develop the suite of evidence based educator led programs and resources that supports educators in Early Learning Services and Primary Schools to feel more confident to teach practical, mental wellness and resilience skills to children, with common language concepts and resources reaching home to families in Australian communities. If young people aged 3-12 can learn practical skills that support a positive focus and empowered self- direction while building healthy peer support networks, before they reach high school and adolescence, then we have a chance to positively impact the growing and alarming statistics of mental illness, bullying and violence that is draining our communities.
