About Catherine Smith
Being a caregiver for my father led to my passion and devotion to the health field. This summer of 2023, I am completing an internship at HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy. I am graduating Temple University summer 2023 with a degree in Recreational Therapy. I plan to become a CTRS and attend Salus University fall of 2023 for my Masters of Occupational Therapy. Recreational therapy embodies adaptations and modification to promote autonomy and inclusion for individuals with varying disabilities. Occupational Therapy recovers activities of daily living which in turn, patients can participate and engage in meaningful, purposeful activity. I want to have influence in this world, and whole heartedly make an impact on my patients’ lives. With the knowledge and experience I have gained, it is my aspiration to collaborate with other professionals on innovative and effective treatment.
