Background

About Catherine Taylor

I am a supply chain manager currently working in the healthcare industry as the Logistics Manager for the Nova Scotia Health Authority's Western Zone. I also have winemaking experience, most recently both winemaking and managing operations at Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards for 5 years, a Master of Business and Science (Vineyard & Winery Management) from the Bordeaux Sciences Agro in France, as well as growing season/vintage experience at Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace in 2016 and Tawse Winery in Niagara in 2017. Though wine was a meaningful step in my career, during the pandemic I realized that there were other areas of the community that were more seriously impacted by supply chain issues, so I decided to hang up my winemaking overalls and search out a role in healthcare. From my previous career, I was already a supply chain manager with 7 years of experience in project management, 2 in procurement and 1 in hotel management. My work experience began in the Hospitality industry with Marriott Hotels, but I spent most of my career in the Packaged Goods (FMCG/CPG) industry, working for Unilever in the US and Canada. My particular expertise is in leading large teams, building and running complex supply chains - especially bringing new innovations to market - and managing global supply networks for food, personal care and homecare products. Some of my proudest professional achievements in that industry include the global relaunch of the Toni & Guy brand, the transition of Ben & Jerry's ice cream to non-GMO ingredients in North America, the design of the material strategy during and after the acquisition of Talenti Gelato by Unilever and the opportunities to mentor colleagues. I have an MBA from Queen's University, and a B. Commerce from the University of Guelph, both in Canada. I also have WSET Level 2 Certification.
