About Catherine Taylor

Catherine Taylor, MFT was born and raised in the Bay Area. She began her work with families and children 25 years ago as a bilingual teacher, then therapist. Catherine earned her B.A. from San Francisco State University in Spanish Language in 1990 and began teaching in bilingual education. She wanted to work more in-depth with students on their emotional and psychological well being by pursuing her Master of Arts in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She graduated in Catherine has worked in varied settings, including outpatient treatment centers, school-based day treatment, Family Services, Non-Profits and for Kaiser Permanente. She worked for Kaiser in the Department of Child Psychiatry from 2004-2009 and then in the Hospital as an Emergency and Hospital based consultant from 2010-2013. Catherine opened her private practice in 2007 - working with adults, couples, youth and families. She has a specialty working with Spanish speaking families and children through Medi-cal. Her life and work have been inspired by building close therapeutic relationships with patients. She has committed herself to decades of deep inner work, with extensive training in different treatment modalities. Some of her advanced trainings and experience include yoga, mindfulness practice, buddhist study and addiction/recovery. She is deeply devoted to personal and spiritual growth.
