I am Dr. Catherine Toomer—physician, survivor, and transformation architect—Health Wellness and Weight Loss Centers (now TOTAL Weight Care Institute™) was born from necessity, compassion, and a serious refusal to settle for the status quo. In 2001, I faced my own medical crisis: obesity, uncontrolled diabetes, and pregnancy-related heart failure. Given a 50% chance of surviving five years, I didn’t just beat the odds—I rewrote the playbook. My recovery became the foundation of Whole-You Total Weight Loss™, a now-proven approach that combines the best of medicine, mindset, and motivation. In 2016, I officially launched Health Wellness and Weight Loss Centers, LLC to offer others the same kind of holistic, evidence-based support I had to create for myself. Aiken Weight No More in South Carolina was the first brick-and-mortar space to make that vision real. And when the pandemic hit in 2020, I didn’t slow down, but rather scaled up. What began as a local sanctuary of care became a global resource for total wellness through tele-health and digital transformation. Today, TOTAL Weight Care Institute™ offers more than weight loss—we offer wholeness. Our medically sound, personalized programs are designed to get to the root of what’s holding people back—physically, emotionally, and socially. Because real change doesn’t come from shame or shortcuts. It comes from feeling seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. We work with people who’ve “tried everything,” who are exhausted by broken promises, and who are quietly wondering if it’s even worth trying again. Our answer? Yes, it is.
