About Catherine West

I have been an editor at Marketwire, a news distribution service, for over ten years and was promoted to Senior Editor in 2008. I gained my public relations experience working as an intern for The Field Museum after completing both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Journalism at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign at the age of 24. In editing press releases and consulting with clients, I have helped to develop and implement editorial standards for both style and quality that are used by my company's editorial team. In addition, I have worked closely with other departments including marketing, sales, and technology. Experience has taught me how to build strong relationships with all departments at an organization. I have the ability to work within a team as well as cross-team.
