About Cathryn Doney

Hi, I’m Cathryn — a provisional psychologist at Moi Clinic in Melbourne. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults (ages 3–93), supporting people through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, ADHD, and major life changes. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and person-centred approaches. With trauma clients, I integrate practices from Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support safety, understanding, and self-compassion. I’m neurodivergent and committed to neurodiversity-affirming practice. I value difference, authenticity, and the many ways people learn, connect, and make sense of the world. I enjoy working with diverse clients and aim to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely accepting of who you are. Before becoming a psychologist, I spent many years working in leadership and organisational change — experience that deepened my understanding of how people adapt, grow, and find resilience in complex systems. I’m committed to helping people find clarity and calm amid the noise, and to reconnect with the parts of life that matter most.
