About Cathy Cohen

As a nutritionist and wellness program specialist, I am a passionate promoter of healthy lifestyle behavior change for the prevention and treatment of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, prediabetes and other chronic health conditions. With advanced education in nutrition and public health, I have extensive experience in the development, management and promotion of lifestyle programs that integrate nutrition, exercise and behavior modification for both adults and children. I have recently focused on improving maternal, family and child health through nutrition education, physical activity, and the promotion/support of breastfeeding. My passion is to help middle-age and older adults, and currently I utilize my counseling skills to help seniors enroll in Medicare Advantage plans, helping to make a stressful and confusing process a little bit easier. I am an energetic leader of staff as well as enthusiastic and empathetic counselor, educator, student instructor, and creative developer of educational and promotional materials using various media. I have a particular talent for creating something brand new from the ground up, and have a personal commitment to help people lead healthier lives. I have worked with children, older adults, low-income families, and those with chronic health conditions. I have a special interest in the psychology of food and eating, promoting a healthy body image, women's health issues, and food politics.
