Background includes being a postgraduate qualified Business Manager with over 20 years’ experience gained in New Zealand and South Africa in large, complex and internationally recognised universities. Responsible for leading corporate services of significantly large departments at an executive level with a strong focus on commercial financial management and customer service delivery, in diverse highly technical business units. 14 years with the University of Auckland, line-managing teams of up to 30 people, managing combined budgets of up to $53 million per annum. Sought after as a trusted advisor and implementer by senior executives. A demonstrated track record of building high performing teams of diverse staff resulting in consistent achievement of objectives, improved succession planning and innovative outcomes. Strong focus on personal development and career growth for staff which fostered high engagement and trust. Demonstrated reputation for understanding the drivers, and the breadth and depth, of the business, and successfully translating strategy into operations.
