About Cathy du

I am driven by a passion for creating user-centered solutions that make a positive impact in underserved communities through the convergence of design, technology, and business. I embarked on my design thinking journey in 2014 by winning a hackathon with an app connecting homeless veterans and local mentors. This empathetic and iterative approach to problem-solving inspired me to transition from a corporate finance career to building user-centered business systems and processes with Netsuite, a cloud-based ERP platform. Recently, I expanded my focus to designing integrations that deliver seamless digital customer experiences. With my prior industry experience, I can understand my clients' pain points and communicate effectively with both developers and process owners to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements. In addition to my design and technology efforts, I am also committed to driving social change, particularly in the area of global poverty. I took a one-year sabbatical in 2019 to work with the non-profit Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee) where I helped develop tools to streamline the field reporting process, freeing up front-line staff to provide more human-centered services to refugees across five settlements in Uganda. I am also a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers community, furthering my commitment to making a positive impact in the world.Skills/interests: Passion for the user-experience, leading functional & development teams in an agile environment, collaborating with diverse teams (I’ve worked in 13 countries), business process design & strong communicator
