About Cathy O.

Personally and professionally, I am committed to education. As a lifelong learner, experienced educator and technology leader, it is my privilege to support the continuous challenge of leveraging technology to advance the mission of the academy. Education and research nurture the promise of our future. My leadership style is firmly rooted in relationship building through listening, open dialogue and strategic service. Cumulatively, I have 30 years of experience providing information technology (IT) support and services in academic settings. It was my privilege to serve as an Associate Vice President for University Information Technology Services at Indiana University, a multi-campus institution with more than students, faculty, and staff. With a strong focus on customer service excellence, my 13 teams are responsible for the university's award-winning support center, printing management, software licensing and delivery systems, endpoint management, web systems, knowledge management, IT request management services, executive and internal technical support, and IT community partnerships. IU's technical support center provides support to both over constituents across all of IU and Ivy Tech Community Colleges in the state of Indiana, making it among the largest in the Big Ten. The directors of IT for the Vice President's Office for Research, the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the School of Engineering and Technology are co-led by their deans and vice presidents and myself. These partnerships provide a unique opportunity for understanding and focused alignment of IT resources with each units' mission.
