About Cathy Troup

I am a grassroots community based leader currently serving as an Elected Member in Barossa Council. Prior to this I have gained various skills working voluntarily in local and international communities, including Bangladesh, Philippines and African Refugee Communities. I have extensive experience working with families, children, women and recently disability. I have founded a Women's Birthing/Health NGO in an urban slum in Manila for 10 years, worked as a Community Pastor, and recently have initiated a Disability Service for families in faith based organizations. I currently sit on various community committees including Vice Chair of Suicide Prevention Network, Barossa Reconciliation Group, Barossa Health Advisory Council, Barossa Regional Art Gallery, Community Assistance Scheme, Steering Team Barossa Culture Hub and many more. Passionate about community liaison, and empowering the next generation as leaders. I am married to James, we have 6 adult children whom I Homeschooled for 25 years, all work as community Leaders and are dedicated life learners in various disciplines.
