About Cathy Uhlmann

I am a FCPA with over 25 years' commercial accounting and finance management experience. I am passionate about assisting organisations to meet their full potential, through implementing efficient processes, enabled teams, and utilising business analysis tools to help Managers and Business Owners understand their key business drivers and performance. My career experience spans several sectors (including NFP, Logistics, Construction, Insurance, IT and Wholesale). I am currently a Financial Controller for a family-owned SME wholesale supplier in Brisbane. I have worked with SMEs, national and global organisations - and my passion lies with assisting businesses fulfil their strategies. I employ a hands-on approach to promote the value-add services that Accounting Professionals provide across multiple disciplines (including accounting, business management, financial management, compliance, systems improvements, QA, risk, workplace culture). I also advocate the unique skills that female Accounting Professionals bring to the Management and Boardroom tables. As a Mum to two school-aged sons, I also promote work-life balance, and the recognition of the unique skills held (and challenges faced) by working parents.
