About Cayra Large

I have always loved digging into and solving problems, big or small. Maybe it’s the ‘oldest daughter’ in me who feels like I need to help everyone with everything, or maybe I’m just a little bit type-A and enjoy making my life more orderly. Either way, this love of breaking down problems has led me to one of the biggest, most complicated problems we face today: creating sustainable systems that support people and the planet well into the future. After earning my Bachelor of Commerce where I studied social entrepreneurship, I moved to Toronto to complete my Master of Science in Sustainability Management. Now, I have two key interests: First, I’m interested in how businesses can contribute to positive sustainable change. I am excited be with Boston Consulting Group to jump into these problems surrounded by some of the most brilliant and diverse people out there. Second, I am interested in how communities can prepare for the inevitable social and environmental changes that are happening. I dig into community resilience work through my personal research and through the Reach Alliance, where I hope to continue sharing what I’ve learned with you all. In both of these interests, the way I approach problem-solving is the same: understand all the small components that make up a big challenge, get involved with engaged teams, and collaborate across disciplines to connect great ideas.
