About Ceann Knox

I started at Edge Analytical in June of 2015 as a laboratory aid. Here I was in charge of making media, operating an autoclave and general lab cleaning duties. After a few months I was promoted to Laboratory Technician where I processed and analyzed various water, food and biosolid samples for micro testing. I was trained I. aseptic technique and performed many proficiency tests. I also discussed results with clients and helped determine tests to be run. I created the quality control officer position by taking charge of performing lab audits on the methods, SOPs, logbooks and management system, running all required QC on laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents. I developed and edited audits used according to the ISO standard and standard methods. I was promoted to Laboratory Manager in October of 2017. As manager I oversee 5 employees of various positions. I am in charge of authorizing data before it is released to the client. I still handle all of the laboratory audits. As Laboratory Manager I have been part of 4 ISO audits both off-site and on-site. I transitioned the lab to the new and updated ISO standard (ISO 17025:2017).
