I am a biotechnologist with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the School of Chemical Engineering at Aalto University, passionate about developing sustainable and ethical alternatives to animal protein. I currently work at Enifer, a Finnish mycoprotein company, as a Summer Trainee in fungal bioinformatics. I use computational tools with a focus on strain development to support the creation of scalable and sustainable protein for food and feed. For my Master’s thesis at the Microbial Foods group at DTU Biosustain, I carried out a broad-scale genomic and textural analysis of edible fungi from three phyla, focusing on their potential as alternative protein sources. This experience strengthened both my research skills and my commitment to advancing microbial food innovation.
