Background
About Cedric Maloux
I have been leading internet startups through both the highs and lows of the digital economy since 1996, when I launched my first website, a French community portal that I sold in With a Master of Science in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence (1992), I have spent my career at the intersection of business, sales, and technology. What sets me apart is my ability to blend deep technical expertise with a profound understanding of human behavior and business dynamics. This combination has allowed me to inspire and empower founders, helping them navigate both the strategic and personal challenges of scaling startups. Beyond my own ventures, I advise startup founders on scaling their businesses, refining business models, preparing for fundraising, and applying growth hacking techniques. My strengths lie in shaping business plans, product and market strategies, positioning, and e-business models. I’ve bootstrapped and sold a company, saved two from bankruptcy, and helped grow one startup from concept to millions of users. I've also raised Series A funding with Index Ventures and Mangrove Capital Partners. Since 2013, as CEO of StartupYard, I’ve helped accelerate (very) early-stage startups, which have collectively secured over €100M in investment from business angels and VCs. Notable companies include Rossum, Gjirafa, CityPay, Retino, and many other. Some additional highlights include- Facebook recognized Geewa’s Pool Live Tour as the 2nd best sports game worldwide in 2011- AllPeers, a browser extension I co-founded, was named a "killer app" for Firefox by TechCrunch and won awards from PC World, Wired, and CNet in 2007- Gay.com UK received the NewMediaAge Awards in 2002, ranking ahead of The Guardian and The Observer. I’m also a frequent public speaker, sharing insights on startup growth, business strategy, and the evolving tech landscape.
