Background
About Cedric Riel
I am currently in the Velocity Line Leader role at Lamb Weston in Quincy, WA and oversee the Continuous Improvement of a production line. This includes the creation and implementation of standards, floor support, capability training, and much more. Prior to this role I served as a TLAP at LW in Hermiston, OR and was in charge of ensuring that we are producing high quality frozen potato products in a safe manner. Prior to this role I was a TLQ and was directly responsible for ensuring product quality through our upstream check program as well as the raw grading program. I was also responsible for product dispositions, foreign material responses, lab audits, warehouse inventories, and more. Before I stepped into the TLQ role I was a TLP, meaning that I was in charge of ensuring performance over one production line. This role was located in Boardman, OR and my first line was Line 4 which mass produces Chik-Fil-A Crisscut Fries. During my experience in this role I better learned how to read the quality in the finished product and how to make changes in the line process to impact this metric. I also learned a lot about people and the different forms of leadership needed to push toward desired results, though much of this understanding came through my college journey. I attended EOU from 2018-2022, graduating with a degree in Business, a degree in Economics, and an MBA. While there I enjoyed competing in T&F as well as Football, hiking a multitude of mountain trails, flying down rapids in whitewater rafts, freezing while winter camping, and much more. In addition to my academic and outdoorsy adventures, I also got involved in the Associated Students of Eastern Oregon University (student government). In 2019 I sat on the SFC (Student Fee Committee) and voted on fiscal allocation decisions of over $1 million. In 2020 I was voted in as a Senator within student government and sat again on the SFC Committee. In early 2021 I picked up the Student Trustee position on the Eastern Oregon University Board of Trustees. I still hold a Trustee position to the present upon this same board. In my last school year (2021-2022) I became the Director of Financial Affairs and chaired the SFC Committee meetings. Through my experiences on with ASEOU, as a current Board Member, and as a Supervisor at Lamb Weston, I have gained an appreciation for the amount of work that goes into strategic decision making and direction setting. My lens on the world and how it operates is widening everyday and I am thankful to take part in so many impactful decisions. Thank you, Cedric Riel
