About Celena Velez

I’ve spent more than 20 years working in the nonprofit sector because I believe in its power to create real, lasting change. From an independent school to a child and family services organization, I’m drawn to work that makes a difference in people’s lives. My experience includes team leadership, fundraising, marketing, communications, donor relations, data and systems, event management, and operations management. As a leader, I focus on people first. I lead with compassion, value collaboration, and try to create structure and strategies that allow others to do their best work. I care about the missions I support, and I’m always looking for ways to make a bigger impact—through better systems, stronger relationships, and thoughtful, meaningful work.
