Background
About Celeste Aronoff
My professional life has been guided by my intrinsic need to organize. I'm the person who stands at a checkout counter and straightens it as I wait my turn. I see the world around me in terms of efficiency and effectiveness, wanting to create structures to liberate people, ideas, things, and organizations from daily My greatest satisfaction comes from creating and implementing processes that actually impact & improve the working experience of staff at all levels. I've been naturally drawn to both administration and HR, which are the building blocks that the rest of an organization rests upon. Organizational life demands clear structured thinking and the ability to implement policies and processes that people can understand and follow without having to think harder about what they are doing. The amount of energy freed up when workers don't have to think about daily tasks, from inventory procurement to employee review processes, means that staff can focus their energies on the work that matters. That means I love putting together a policy manual utilizing simple language and educating staff on how those policies guide their work day. It means implementing and training on technology that frees supervisors from complicated process and provides instead a simple platform for capturing all employee performance management data. It means advising staff at all levels on how to address difficult challenges, and identifying clear, atainable goals in supervision. People operations demands multiple systems to perform well across multiple functions from recruitment, retention, benefits, payroll, performance management, training & development, etc. Getting those systems in place with current technology, and then educating staff to use it well is THE place that organizations fail most often. Technology doesn't replace or create processes or compliance. The real work of human resource departments is to create the supports that staff can lean on. I am also deeply gratified with work that I know is meaningful by getting my little corner of the world organized and optimized. Simplifying and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness are my two guiding spiritual principles, and the most satisfying work I ever do! From being a meditative yoga teacher to winning a chief people officer I love to lead & teach, to bring innovation & originality into relationships, processes, and professional roles.
