About Celeste Coleman

As a medical research specialist at Tulane Primate Center, I contribute to the advancement of global health by conducting quantitative assays that detect the presence of SIV, HIV, and herpesviruses in non-human primates. I collaborate with a team of experts in virology, immunology, and molecular biology, and use cutting-edge techniques and equipment to produce reliable and accurate results. I am also pursuing a master's degree in public health with a focus on disaster management at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. My goal is to apply my skills and knowledge to improve planetary and public health by aiding in disaster recovery, food safety, water treatment, pollution mitigation, and public health education. I have completed courses in emergency preparedness, risk assessment, and humanitarian response, and I am eager to learn more and gain practical experience in this field.
