I believe that we’re in the thick of a communications revolution. The technology is here. Now we need to tame it. Bend it to our will, to our needs. Use it to tell our stories. Use it to make our lives better. Easier. Richer. But, most importantly, we need to take advantage of the control it has given us. In this new world, content is not king. Instead, every individual is now the king of their own content. We can control what we see, what we see more of and what we never have to see again. I can’t imagine a more exciting time to work in advertising. Brands can have unparalleled access to their customers if they want it. The evolving media landscape is ripe with new challenges and opportunities. I believe that this makes the role of the Account Team more important than ever. I am passionate about advertising. I have been in the industry since 2004 and in that time have worked on clients of almost every size and style. I believe that the keys to success in this industry are: 1. Resist the temptation to be an order taker- Pushing back when you need to. Making sure that you just doing the easy thing, but the best thing for the situation. Don't cry wolf- Not every project is an emergency. You can build trust with your internal teams and your clients if you ring the alarm bells when absolutely necessary. Invest in intelligence. Learn as much as you can about everything you can. Look at the results that your campaigns are achieving. I mean, really look. Glean everything you can from the trends that you see. Manage expectations- Under promise, over deliver. This philosophy has never, not ever, let me down.
