About Celeste Spears-Ellis

With over 28 years of experience in the education sector, I am a passionate and dedicated school administrator who strives to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students, staff, and families. I have a master's degree in school administration and a bachelor's degree in elementary education and teaching, and I have developed strong skills in instructional leadership, Title IX, and goal setting. I am currently an assistant principal at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, one of the largest and most diverse school districts in North Carolina, where I support the principal in leading a high school of over students. In my previous role as an elementary school principal, I oversaw the academic and operational performance of three different schools, serving students from various backgrounds and needs. I implemented innovative programs and initiatives to improve student achievement, teacher retention, parent engagement, and school culture. I also fostered collaborative partnerships with other schools, district leaders, community organizations, and stakeholders. I was recognized for leading the transformation of Allenbrook Elementary School and for increasing the student proficiency and growth rates at David Cox Road Elementary School.
