Background
About Celeste Terry
Experienced Assistant Executive Director with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Social Services, Event Planning, Youth Development, and Nonprofit Management. Strong business development professional with a Masters' degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University-MSASS. Created the curriculum and launched a Grant Writing class in 2017 that was held in Mt. Pleasant to bring my expertise into an underserved community that UBF served via funding. This dynamic class had a waiting list, and drew people from Kent, Akron, Lorain and surrounding areas. In 2020, my grant writing class morphed into a collaboration with the Cleveland Leadership Center. My manual was translated into Spanish and distributed to participants in Puerto Rico who attended the zoom grant writing workshops which were done in Cleveland for the people of Puerto Rico. I presented 3 zoom grant writing trainings in April and May, 2020. We also worked with representatives from FEMA and Interchez to make the workshops available. I spoke and a translator from Interchez translated my talk into Spanish. It is quite exciting, and took my training to a whole different, international level. Delighted now to work with Jelka L. Duchesne Sanabria, Attorney, located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, who presented,"How To Form a 501 c 3 Non-Profit in Puerto Rico" as part of our collaboration. The initiative I created, Explorations: Student Caucus Pilot has gone live today (10/15/20) at MSASS. The pilot address racial tensions in the graduate school environment. Submitted an academic proposal abstract to the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) for consideration at 67th Annual Program Meeting November 4-7, 2021. Received email 6/7, the proposal was accepted! Presented in Orlando, FL- A wonderful experience. Presented to HBCU Jackson State University, March 28, 2022. In-Service to Faculty, Field Instructors and Students. Contributing Writer for Wounded Healers Book Project funded by The Saint Luke's Foundation-created by Dr. Yvonne Pointer - Higher Ground. Appointed to Association of Fundraising Professionals Board of Directors at The City Club Dec. My student loans have been forgiven in 2023 via the PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness) program by the Department of Education. Also, thanking me for my public service. Embarking on international trade work with Cleveland State University and the Department of Commerce in 2023, and beyond.
