Prof Celeste Viljoen is the Vice-Dean for Teaching and Quality Assurance in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. She is a researcher on Structural Risk and Reliability; the convener of the SABS working group developing SANS 10100-3, a member of SABS TC98-02 for the standardisation of design of concrete structures, the South African representative in the working group for the revision of ISO 13824, and a member of the Joint Committee on Structural Safety. Her consulting experience include the design and construction supervision of South African highway- and railroad bridges in reinforced- and pre-stressed concrete.
