About Celia Purvis

Having recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from RMIT, I am keen to commence my career in Human Resource Management. During my undergraduate degree, I majored in Gender Studies and specialised in Australian Indigenous Studies. I am a passionate advocate for the promotion of diversity and inclusion and hope to use my qualifications in Human Resource Management to advocate for the elimination of discrimination, empowerment of marginalised or misrepresented communities, and achievement of equality within the workplace. As the recipient of the ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award in 2018, I thoroughly enjoy working and communicating with others and excel in team-based environments. I am an adaptive and resilient individual, who is able to be both creative and maintain a focus on operational efficiency and delivery. I am highly organised and have juggled my varied employment responsibilities, often simultaneously, whilst also delivering on various leadership roles at Trinity College during my residency. In 2022, I transitioned from student to employee at Trinity College, undertaking a full-time role in Event Management on a fixed-term six-month contract. As a part of this role, I coordinated the annual Gourlay Ethics in Business Week alongside the CEO and Warden of Trinity College and the Gourlay Family. This role required strong time management and organisational skills, well-developed computer skills, an ability to prioritize competing demands, keep a level head, meet deadlines, work autonomously, resolve problems and interact effectively with stakeholders. Notably, I have also been actively involved in numerous charitable community service activities including fundraising and awareness-raising for Dementia Australia, the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation, the May 50K, Second Bite, One Girl and 300 Blankets.
