About Celina Shamon

Hello all! I am Celina Shamon, a passionate professional dedicated to driving social change and empowering marginalized communities. Currently serving as the Community Impact and Communications Manager at Sisters in Sync, I lead strategic communication efforts, fostering engagement and amplifying the organization’s mission. Prior to this role, I served as an Executive Assistant and Administrator, ensuring organizational efficiency and supporting leadership initiatives. In addition to my time at Sisters in Sync, I hold the position of Researcher and Funding Coordinator at Sitti Social Enterprise, where I work on securing funding and conducting research to support refugee women’s economic empowerment. With a background in political science, I am able to approach social impact work with a critical lens, analyzing policies and structures that shape marginalized communities’ experiences on both a local and international level. During my time at Wilfrid Laurier University, I had the privilege to be apart of the Varsity Women’s Rugby Team, an editor for The Sputnik Student Publications, and conducted marketing for multiple student associations. These experiences helped me further understand the value in teamwork, leadership and commitment. My diverse background in communications, media freelancing, journalism, community organizing, grant writing and advocacy has equipped me with the skills to bridge the gaps between storytelling, policy, and grassroots community development.
