About Celine Alrefai

Architecture student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Technology. I’m passionate about innovative design solutions that tackle pressing issues in housing, equity, and sustainability. My academic journey is enriched by hands-on experiences, most notably as the Founder and President of the Daniels Housing Initiative, a student-led nonprofit I established to advocate for creative strategies to combat homelessness and reimagine how we use space in cities like Toronto. Through the initiative, I’ve led workshops that challenge students to rethink sustainability in architecture by repurposing materials and exploring the social impact of design. At the John H. Daniels Faculty, I’ve serve as Studio Steward at the help desk, where I support students through resource development, improve studio workflows, and contribute to a more efficient and accessible learning environment. I also coordinated the Daniels Undergraduate Mentorship Program, helping foster a strong network of academic and professional support among students. My leadership and communication skills have been further strengthened through my retail experience as a keyholder at L’Intervalle and Steve Madden, where I led teams, managed daily operations, and cultivated inclusive, client-focused environments. I’m excited to continue blending design, technology, and social impact. Working on projects that champion housing justice and sustainable urban development.
