About Celine McInerney

Dr. Celine McInerney is a finance professional with a focus on climate finance, investment in renewables and sustainability. She is an experienced non-executive director with board chair and chair of audit, risk and finance committee experience. She is an expert on stranded asset risk, energy systems modelling, valuation and investment appraisal for renewables, interconnection and carbon price risk. She is an experienced advisor and has presented and published widely on these topics. Celine was the Irish government’s nominee as the Irish climate finance expert for scoping the 6th Assessment Report of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report in 2016. Celine was Director of Corporate Finance at boutique advisor Merrion Capital where she focused on the energy sector. Prior to this she spent three years working for Ireland’s largest private wind farm developer SWS Group where she focused on acquisitions and fundraising. Previously she worked in mergers and acquisitions at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Lehman Brothers in London and New York. Celine has also held positions at Consensus Economics, Credit Lyonnais, Guinness Ireland and Trinity College Dublin. Celine holds a BSc in Finance from Dublin City University, an M. Litt. in Finance and a graduate diploma in Statistics from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in Energy Finance from University College Cork. She is currently on career break from her position as Senior Lecturer in Finance at UCC. She is a guest lecturer at London Business School and is a member of the Institute of Directors and serves as company director on a number of boards. See below for publications & hl=en
