About Ceryl Joosten

As a product designer and developer with over seven years of design experience, I combine an innovative and creative approach with my analytic capabilities to deliver high quality, cost effective, aesthetically pleasing products. I am highly professional and work well as part of a team. I am passionate about my work as a designer and enjoy working with similarly minded people. I have a proven track record in supporting and leading product creation on a large and complex scale and am comfortable in my ability to manage smaller projects independently. Working with big retail companies Lidl, Hutson Bay and high end design brands as Spectrum furniture and Leolux Pode. I also worked with interior design studio Müller Van Tol and design studio Roderick Vos. This has given me a drive to strive for perfection and put care into every detail. To keep up with design trends I attend Design District, a trade fair of the interior design sector. I am used to working on multiple projects at once. Making sure I give every project and customer the time and resources it needs. Always keeping an eye on the priorities to bring the project to conclusion. My experience in fabrication has given me more of an insight and allowed me to better my skills in 3D models and 2D drawings. I see this software as an important communication tool. Knowing how to use different materials like steel, wood and plastics has given me an understanding of the possibilities and limitations. I have experience in creating mood boards. Using samples of materials and colour theory to complement or contrast with designs. Over the course of my career I have taken the lead on quality control of prototypes made from my drawings. Placing orders for production and sourcing the parts needed. Making sure that it is to the standard of the client and looking if there is room to improve. This has made production more efficient and improved cost and timing. I am a highly motivated, technical minded individual who enjoys being challenged. I feel that this is a very important trait for continuous personal development and improvement. I have strong communication and interpersonal skills which have assisted with my ability to work in a highly motivated technical orientated team as well as under my own initiative.
