About Cesar Martin

I specialize in the development of space instrumentation for scientific missions, with hands-on experience across multiple phases of space projects, from concept to operations. As a Project Manager/Systems Engineer at the Institute for Experimental and Applied Physics in Kiel, Germany, I led the development of advanced radiation detectors for ESA's Solar Orbiter and Lagrange L5 (now Vigil) missions. Before that, I served as Instrument Scientist for the Radiation Assessment Detector (RAD) onboard NASA's Curiosity Mars Rover, contributing to groundbreaking exploration on the Red Planet. In the field of exoplanetary research, I have been deeply involved with ESA's PLATO mission, focusing on payload calibration and operational readiness. I began this work at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin and continue to contribute at ESA's Science Ground Segment at the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Madrid.
