About Chad Carty

Passionate educator and leader with over a decade of experience fostering success for students, staff, and school communities. Currently serving as Assistant Principal at Indian Creek High School, I specialize in designing systems and strategies to support student achievement and holistic growth. I am seeking a leadership role where I can contribute to the success of students, sta, and the larger school community. In January 2011, I began my journey in alternative education at Lydia Academy in Rockford. Although I had limited experience at the time, working with at-risk populations quickly ignited a passion for supporting students in reaching their potential. I thrive on helping students who are often overlooked and am deeply motivated to create environments where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Principal at Indian Creek High School, a small district where the size and structure do not always support a team-centered approach. This experience has deepened my appreciation for collaborative problem-solving. To address challenges, I formed a student support team to develop interventions for students struggling with behavior, attendance, mental health, and other barriers to success. Despite limited resources, we are fostering a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility. Previously, at Freeport, I gained valuable experience implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), which sharpened my skills in data-driven decision-making. These skills have become central to my leadership philosophy, and I am eager to continue leveraging them to enhance student outcomes. Additionally, I enjoy designing and implementing eective systems and processes. At Indian Creek, I am leading the development of a discipline system that integrates data collection, progressive practices, and restorative approaches. This initiative reflects my belief in balancing accountability with meaningful student support, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive. I am eager to bring this collaborative and student-centered approach to schools. I am confident my experience in leadership, data analysis, and system development aligns with the school’s goals of fostering academic excellence and holistic student growth.
