About Chad Dick

I was appointed to the Indiana State Police in December 1995 and worked the road as a trooper from December 1995 until October 2005. While working the road as a trooper, I enforced traffic laws, investigated crashes, and investigated crimes that took place within my patrol areas. From October 2005 to August 2007 I served as the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer for the Jasper District. My job responsibilities in this position included inspecting school buses and enforcing the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and applicable state laws on commercial motor vehicles. In August of 2007 I was promoted to Sergeant to serve as the Public Information Officer/Recruiter for the Jasper Post. As a public information officer I prepared news releases and provided interviews to media on newsworthy events in which the Indiana State Police were involved. I also conducted and coordinated variety of educational programs for schools, civic organizations, and clubs on topics such as drug awareness, drivers' education, identity theft, home protection/security, and other law enforcement related topics. Along with those duties I also served as a Recruiter for the Indiana State Police. In August 2013 I became a Squad Leader at the Jasper Post. My primary responsibility is being the first line supervisor for the Troopers. I have also served on several specialty teams including the Critical Incident Stress Management Team, Tactical Intervention Platoon, Field Training Officer, and Honor Guard. I was also a member of the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police Critical Incident and Memorial Team. As a member of this team I responded when an officer is killed in the line of duty and assist the effected department and community with rendering honors to their fallen hero. In August 2021 I retired from the Indiana State Police after 25 years of service I have been a certified Firearms Instructor since and conduct annual firearms training for our Department. In August 2021 I retired from the Indiana State Police after 25.5 years of service. In June 2021 I was hired by ElectriCom, LLC as a Training Specialist. In the role I help develop, facilitate and conduct trainings for employees at ElectriCom which is a utility infrastructure company specializing in Power, Telecommunications and Right of Way Services.
