About Chad Frame

As an accomplished writer and educator who also serves as a creatively-minded business professional, I am well-versed in mentoring with experience in classroom teaching, managing others, facilitating workshops, and promoting creative and productive atmospheres. I am able to leverage a varied skill set spanning several different industries to great effect, and always dedicated to promoting learning and the craft of writing and nourishing it in others. Additionally, I have over twenty years of experience in the luxury retail market, especially with cosmetics and fragrances. I have served in a wide range of industry roles, including sales, e-commerce, account management, and creative content copywriting and editing. As a writer, my poetry, fiction, nonfiction book reviews, and interviews have been published in many journals, including Rattle, Barrelhouse, Pedestal, Philadelphia Stories, New Verse News, Mom Egg Review, Poemeleon, decomP, Rust+Moth, Menacing Hedge, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, Calamus Journal, Prick of the Spindle, Rag Queen Periodical, and elsewhere. I serve as the Director of the Montgomery County Poet Laureate Program, a nonprofit organization facilitating arts events and community service in Pennsylvania. I was named Poet Laureate myself in 2017, a, chosen by judge Tim Seibles. I was able to leverage that platform to start the Caesura Poetry Festival and Retreat, which offers workshops, reading spaces, inclusive space, and networking, and has been running in person and online since 2018. I am the author of three books: Little Black Book (Finishing Line Press, 2022), nominated for the Lambda Literary Award, Cryptid (NoMorePoems Press, 2023), and Smoking Shelter (Moonstone Press, 2023), winner of the Moonstone Chapbook Award. My work has been featured on "The Poet and the Poem" in association with the Library of Congress, and has been included with the Lunar Archive launch sent to the moon. I have been nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and The Best Small Fictions, and have either won or been a runner-up in the Writing Battle Short Story Contest, the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Contest and Short Screenplay Contest, Philadelphia Stories' Sandy Crimmins Award in Poetry, the Glitter Bomb Award from Limp Wrist journal, the Fool for Poetry International Chapbook Contest, the Two Sylvias Press Chapbook Contest, and the Fractured Lit Flash Fiction Contest. I currently teach online writing workshops for River Heron Review, and gladly take on freelance writing, editing, and teaching projects.
