About Chad Laibly

Served in the U.S. Air Force in Dessert Shield/Dessert Storm as a medical evacuation specialist in Germany and Saudi Arabia. Attained my B.S. in Geology and Museum Exhibit Design from the U. of Iowa. Moved to Washington D.C. and focused on gaining high level project management, handling over 45 million in ad revenue working at The Chronicle of Higher Education. This, while managing The National Wildlife Federation Backyard Wildlife Habitat program in the evenings. Then forming my own IT company servicing law firms near the White House, eventually merging with Hilltop Consultants as VP of 20+ employees. My days were spent consulting with many A-level executives and clients, helping them invest $250k+ in their infrastructure. In 2008, I made a conscious decision to switch to an environmental career in energy efficiency, receiving BPI Building Analyst and Solar certifications. My first role was VP of an energy auditing and solar company division in the DC/MD/VA area followed by VP of a commercial level air barrier testing company servicing Chicago, Minnesota and Wisconsin. I now manage, inspect and certify 30 Trade Allies/Contractors for the WI Focus on Energy insulation and air sealing program (FoE is our utility-funded, state-run home energy performance incentive program). This role includes managing many pilot programs. Such as: Tribal Offerings, Deep Residential Efficiency and Healthy Homes. I maintain or attain new certifications yearly, such as: the Building Performance Institute, Solar Photovoltaics, OSHA, Owens Corning, Retrotec, Forklift, Energy Management and other related disciplines. I hold Building Analytics, Building Envelope and Proctor level certifications through BPI. Specialties: Distilling complex information into productive talking points. Taking ownership of my managed projects and having an innate perception of human behavior that has served me well in client services. I make decisions with confidence and knowledge while maintaining situational awareness. This career is what I love, what I am good at, and what I can do expertly while striving for improvement. Directing Style: I prefer a method of self-guidance for others so they enhance their own problem solving abilities. I strive to be egoless and encourage my teams to feel empowered. Their strengths are mine as well as their successes and failures.
