About Chad Leeper

As an experienced engineering leader with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, complemented by an MBA, I build bridges between business and technology departments. Using a return-on-investment mindset, I leverage best practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and testing automation to deliver high-quality software products. My personal leadership philosophy is based on Respect, Responsibility, and Return on Investment: Respect – I actively seek out what is unique, special, or distinct about someone to employ their strengths for the business and create job satisfaction for the employee. Responsibility – I strive to clearly define, document, and communicate responsibilities while encouraging discussion and negotiation to ensure the agreement is a win for both sides. Return on Investment – I encourage Lean methodologies to reduce waste and to ensure effort goes towards adding value for the customer. From my experience in software engineering leadership, I am a strong advocate for: • Super-light, easy to understand processes. • Complete automation of CI/CD that includes testing. • Deploying many small software changes rather than one large software deployment. My business education gives me in-depth insight into areas such as: • Finance – financial statement analysis, accounting, and budgeting. • Data-driven decision-making – quality control, system reliability, and linear regressions. • Operations management – business strategy, productivity, and total quality management.
