Lab experience working in academic and industry laboratories in microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, immunology, proteomics and bioinformatics in various pre-clinical and clinical studies. Currently, working as a Lab Manager and Research Scientist in the R&D department of Lallemand Health Solutions evaluating host-microbe interactions of probiotics in human in vitro cell models, as well evaluating the impact of probiotics on the gut microbiota, microbiome and resistome of clinical studies. The aim was to elucidate the mechanisms of action of LHS probiotics to have a rational approach for strain selection for clinical trails in specific health segments, in turn, supporting the regulatory and marketing departments of potential health claims. Specialties: project management, collaboration with external researchers (pre-clinical and clinical), DNA & RNA extractions, gene expression microarrays, RT-qPCR, gene cloning, recombinant DNA techniques, purification of recombinant proteins, SDS-PAGE, 2D-gel, Coomassie/Silver staining, Western Blotting, ELISA, Bio-Plex/Luminex cytokines/chemokines (multiplexing) profiling, cell culturing of human epithelial, immune and oligodendrocyte cell lines, 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing (MiSeq), metabolomics, analysis, SOP writing, technical report writing and manuscript writing. Bioinformatics Software: Microarray metadata analysis using Imagene, MeV, Set Distiller from GeneDecks, and String. Experience in the bioinformatic analysis/manipulation of gut microbiota and resistome metadata from various clinical studies.
