About Chad S.

As a Lead Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, I lead enterprise recruitment strategies that blend data science with human insight—streamlining federal hiring, improving the candidate experience, and enabling mission success across the VA Office of Information Technology. With dual master’s degrees (MBA and an MPA from a top 10 University) and a background in performance metrics, workforce planning, and data visualization, I work at the intersection of technology, policy, people, and platforms. But I bring more than analytics to the table. Before federal service, I was an officer in the U.S. Army reaching the rank of Major with a career that spanned combat and non-combat deployments around the globe as well as work with NATO coalition operations. I’ve led logistics convoys under fire in Iraq, earning a Combat Action Badge, and trained allied Soldiers and Marines from 26 Countries in Europe. I coordinated multinational logistics exercises across Eurasia, supported refugee contingency planning during the North Korea power transition, prepped deployments in support of NGO operation in Liberia in response to the Ebola outbreak, and served as a logistics operations subject matter expert for forward deployments in the Pacific. I’ve been a multinational planner, supply chain instructor, and counterterrorism/near peer warfare operations coordinator. In short: I’ve done a lot with a little while under pressure—and always completed the mission. Locally, I serve as the Chairman of the Ada County Planning & Zoning Commission, working to shape responsible growth and infrastructure planning in one of Idaho’s fastest-growing regions. Through that role, I connect national policy expertise with boots-on-the-ground community impact. When I’m not leading federal hiring initiatives or advising on zoning policy, I create content on global security, warfare, and foreign policy for an audience of and have worked with NATO media operations. I believe public service, national defense, and strategic communication all go hand in hand—and I’ve made it my mission to operate at the center of all three while expanding my experience and education into business and human resources.
