Chad Sexton is an educational leader with a strong record of advancing student success through effective systems leadership, operational excellence, and community partnership. With more than 20 years of experience spanning teaching, transportation, facilities, operations, athletics, and collaborative work with boards of education. Chad brings a comprehensive, districtwide perspective to leadership.Currently serving as Director of Transportation Services at Genesee Intermediate School District, Chad oversees a $15.4 million budget and leads 250 certified and non-certified staff across eight buildings. In this role, Chad ensures safe, equitable, and reliable transportation services for thousands of students while maintaining fiscal responsibility, regulatory compliance, and a strong organizational culture.Previously, Chad provided operational leadership at Swartz Creek Community Schools, directing facilities, grounds, and transportation services. During this tenure, Chad implemented energy-efficiency initiatives, improved operational systems, and secured innovative grant funding to support long-term district sustainability.Chad is recognized for strengths in strategic planning, team development, and complex problem-solving. Whether mentoring aspiring administrators, leading countywide initiatives, or designing student-centered operational services, Chad approaches leadership with a focus on collaboration, equity, transparency, and results. Strong relationships with staff, unions, community partners, and boards are central to Chad’s leadership approach.Outside of education, Chad is a former professional baseball umpire, volunteer coach, and active community member, experiences that reinforced the importance of fairness, accountability, and teamwork.
