Background
About Chad Tedrow
I am an accomplished Senior Sales, Sales Planning and Category Leader with 10+ years of success developing comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth, optimize product performance, and increase market share within competitive CPG markets. I grew up with my grandparents and spent long hours helping my grandfather tend the farm. At 20, I became the third shift supervisor at a cold storage warehouse. While touring the facility with Chiquita executives, one executive noticed my youthful appearance and the respect I commanded as a third-shift supervisor among older colleagues. They offered me a job on the spot, marking my entry into the CPG industry. I joined Sara Lee Foods in 2002 as their Product Manager, Marketing. After 3 promotions within 4 years, I became the Sales Planning Manager of North American Retail where I led Category Management for multiple product categories with revenue exceeding $1B and a $320M trade budget while spearheading Trade Spending Strategy across all Channels. Two years later I joined Hillshire Brands where the COO called me a "corporate bulldog" because I was tenacious at producing results. While working on the Jimmy Dean Roll Sausage business, I discovered that retail packaged bacon outperformed roll sausage in all key metrics. I advocated for entering the retail bacon market, even though we were not vertically integrated and had concerns about margins. Despite initial skepticism, I secured approval, launched bacon, and it became the #3 national brand. In 2015, Tyson Foods who now owned the Hillshire Brands & Sara Lee, promoted me to Manager of Business Operations & the Pacific Sales Team where I developed sales tools, 4P Marketing Matrices, and brand and category strategies while executing the Annual Operating Plan, delivering sales forecasts, and conducting post-promotion analysis. Morton Salt hired me in 2018 as their Senior Manager of Sales Planning and Operations where I led "Go-to-Market" strategies, MAPS (4P) development and execution, opportunity management, corporate pricing, and post-promotional analysis for national accounts such as Walmart, Kroger, Safeway, HDepot, Lowes, and Publix. Those early years helping my grandfather tend to the farm, taught me about hard work, responsibility, and teamwork. I attribute my career success, grit, and determination to those experiences and the role modeling provided by my grandparents. As a leader, I aim to instill these same values in those I work with, paying forward the lessons I learned from them. Add’l competencies: COG/KPI Analysis and SOX Compliance.
