About Chad Wilson

The tragic deaths of two friends while at Franciscan University in changed my trajectory and led me to my role as a lobbyist for Nationwide Insurance. At the time, I was a marketing major with aspirations to own a business. Everything changed when Aaron Land and Brian Muha were murdered, reminding me that we have only one life to live. During the trials, I met an alumnus who offered an internship for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). I credit Aaron and Brian for being instrumental in this profession as laws matter and make a difference in people’s lives. After seven years with NFIB, I joined Nationwide and serve as the Associate Vice President of Government Relations. My passion for Nationwide runs deep because of its noble mission as a protection company and our advantage as a mutual company to make a significant difference in the communities we serve. Nationwide is domiciled in Ohio, and the laws of our home state impact our operations in all 50 states. The foundation of democracy is built on citizens willing to serve our country. Always remember that only voters and lawmakers get to decide the future of our great country. While I’ve worked on many issues over the 20-plus years, there are two laws that will forever stand out in my life. First, advocating for hands-free distracted driving in Ohio with a goal of reaching #handsfreeUSA in all fifty states. Lives are being saved. Second, my wife and I were instrumental in the passage of a law to provide low-interest loans for adoptive parents in the state of Ohio inspired by our experience. Adoption is beautiful as love knows no boundaries. I’m open to connecting and helping leave this world a better place than we found it (former YMCA camp counselor).
