About Chael Moore

Chael Moore is from a small community in Navajo Nation known as Crystal, New Mexico. She is Ts'ahyisk'idnii, born for Honágháanii. Chael recently graduated in May 2022 from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Creative Writing with honors from Barrett, The Honors College. At ASU, she was named one of ASU's most notable 2022 Spring graduates by ASU News. She also holds an associate's degree from Mesa Community College. Chael's concentration is in fiction and creative non-fiction. Her work has been published in ASU Turning Points magazine, LUX Creative Review, and ASUNow, and has been performed at the Northern Arizona Book Festival, University of Washington, Palabras Bilingual Bookstore, Abalone Mountain Press, Navajo Technical University, and with Natalie Diaz for the Witter Bynner Indigenous Poetry Series. She is passionate about community relations and has experience in student support, student retention, publishing, editing, freelancing, and content creation. Chael currently contributes to the local newspaper, The Navajo Times, as a freelance reporter where she covers community events and figures, politics, sports, and more. She is also a contributing content writer to the lifestyle blog/business, Whimsy Soul, based in San Francisco. CA.
