About Chak Akula

I bring a unique and diverse background that spans over three decades across biotechnology and information technology. After earning my Doctorate in Biology from India, I had the privilege of working with premier academic and research institutions across India, France, Australia, Germany, and the United States. During this time, I led research teams in a broad range of biotechnology fields, including bioplastics, biofertilizers, biopharmaceuticals, bioterrorism, and bioengineered products. Following a successful career in the life sciences, I transitioned into the IT domain, retraining as an SAP Functional Consultant. My entry into the SAP ecosystem was marked by impactful roles at leading companies such as Johnson Controls, Bell Helicopter, and Siemens Energy. After two dynamic years as a consultant, working with diverse clients across industries, I moved toward the business side of IT. For the past decade, I have been working under the visionary leadership of Ramesh Thumu, Founder of the Thoughtwave Group of Companies. Under his mentorship, I have gained deep insights into IT operations, business development, and talent management. Today, my work focuses on managing IT talent, driving sales strategies, and Business development—particularly within the federal government contracting space. I specialize in responding to government RFPs, navigating GSA MAS schedules, and leveraging diversity certifications to build strategic partnerships. My experience spans commercial and public sectors, with a strong focus on creating innovative, competitive solutions tailored for government clients. I am deeply committed to innovation, out-of-the-box thinking, and delivering measurable value to the organizations I serve.
