About Chalon Young

Chalon C. Young, Esq, is a practicing attorney with over 20 years of experience in litigation, both civil and criminal. She currently practices criminal defense at the State and Federal level, as well as civil tort defense. Chalon is a Professor of Practice at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law: She previously served as the Manager of Training and Director of Internship Programs for the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to that position, she taught both graduate and undergraduate criminal justice, criminal law and procedure, and sociology at Columbia College in Orlando, Florida. Chalon has tried over a hundred jury trials and earned the distinction of Board Certification in Criminal Trials as an attorney in Florida. She has focused the majority of her defense career in major crimes, complex defense and homicide cases, and has completed specialized training in investigative interviewing and interrogations through the Reid Institute. Chalon earned her Bachelor's Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College summa cum laude and her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University, and is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Florida, and Federally in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Middle District of Pennsylvania, and Northern District of West Virginia.
