About Chance Howell

Hello! It’s terrific to meet you! I’m Chance Howell, a Junior at Kennesaw State University studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I’m passionate about AC/DC circuits, embedded systems, mathematics, and the intersection of hardware and software, and I’m actively developing the technical and practical skills to become a confident and creative engineer.Currently, I am in my second rotation as a Communications Co-op at Newcomb & Boyd, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in the MEP side of engineering. My responsibilities include working in Revit, organizing IT room layouts, and planning and routing cabling from IT rooms to endpoints. This experience has deepened my understanding of how building systems, telecommunications, and installation constraints connect, strengthening my interest in systems-level electrical and communications engineering.At KSU, I’ve built a strong foundation across circuits, computation, and mathematics. My coursework includes Circuit Analysis I, Engineering Electronics, Digital Logic Design, Programming Problem Solving (Python), and Hardware Programming (ARM assembly and C/C++). On the mathematics side, I’ve completed Calculus II, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. Looking ahead, I plan to take Calculus Calculus IV, Partial Differential Equations, Electromagnetics, Circuit Analysis II, and Embedded Systems to further expand my skill set.Before KSU, I graduated with honors from East Paulding High School. I served as FCCLA Chapter President and was active in AFJROTC, where I achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and served as Reserve Flight Commander, overseeing drill and flag protocols, mentoring cadets, and maintaining uniform standards. I also competed in leadership and team competitions, earning a regional win and a state bronze medal in culinary.I am excited to continue growing through real-world electrical engineering experiences, with particular interests in AI, data center infrastructure, and telecommunications. I look forward to expanding my expertise in power systems, embedded software, and large-scale communications while making a meaningful impact in both engineering and the communities I serve.
