About Chandra Mickles

Internationally recognized leader who has built a career dedicated to professional education, patient care, and research in improving patient outcomes with contact lenses and ocular surface disease management. Dr. Mickles lectures extensively and has published frequently in national and internationally acclaimed peer reviewed publications. She has also authored textbook chapters. Dr. Mickles has served the optometry profession by being appointed to national optometric boards such as the AAO Admittance Committee, AOA Contact Lens and Cornea Section Council, AOA New Technology Committee, AOA Education Center Committee, the NOA Board of Directors, the Association of Contact Lens Educators and the Intrepid Eye Society. She has also served on several industry speaker bureaus and advisory boards and has been featured on media outlets such as ABC and NBC news. Some of Dr. Mickles’ recognitions are Alcon President Club Awardee, NOA Educator of the Year, AOCLE Mertz New Educator Award,Top Black Educator in South Florida, AOSA Black Optometrist Making History and NSUCO Professor of the Year, 2 years consecutively.
