About Chandra Montgomery

I’m a nonprofit executive search consultant and talent management professional with a background in equity + inclusion and expertise in advancement operations. I am also a doctoral student at the Lilly School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. My nonprofit experience spans higher education, academic medicine, public media, social services, and museums. I’ve been honored to lead teams at the University of Southern California, NPR, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Over the past several years, I’ve integrated formal diversity, equity, and inclusion practice into my professional and personal repertoires. I hold certifications in DEI and have led trainings and workshops on allyship and inclusive leadership. I have also shared insight on equity + inclusion discussion panels and delivered virtual keynote sessions on the intersection of DEI and philanthropy to national and global audiences. My work to advance equity in philanthropy include service on the DEI committee of Apra and leadership as co-chair of the University Advancement DEI Council at USC. In addition to serving as a senior search consultant at Lindauer, I also currently lead the firm’s Equity & Inclusion Practice. I thrive in learning cultures that model inclusive excellence and demonstrate values of trust, mutual respect, and collaboration. In addition to equity and inclusion, I’m passionate about leadership development, environmental sustainability, and civic participation. I'm open to inquiries and invitations for speaking and/or writing (blog posts and articles, etc.) on the topics of equity and inclusion, or philanthropy – particularly philanthropy and minoritized communities.
