I have had the wonderful opportunity to work along side renowned evolutionary biologist, Dr. Kyle Summers and his PhD candidate, Andrew Otto, in investigating the diets of poison arrow frogs and how it may coincide with variance in toxicity that has been observed in the color morphs of this breed of frog. In addition, I have interned as a Preserve Steward through Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve for the Nature Conservancy where I learned practical skills for the field. These skills include vegetation monitoring, vegetation identification, and invasive vegetation removal. I have also been fortunate to take the graduate level course, Ornithology, in which I became proficient bird species and egg identification as well as population surveying.
